A Still Small Voice 4U Inc. (ASSV) is a not for profit dedicated to supporting art, culture and community. Through its Music Innovation Fund (MIF) ASSV provides direct grants to performers (individual or groups) who do musical performances for community organizations such as schools, libraries and community centers that are free and open to the public. To obtain funding performers should submit an application with information about the performance, community organization involved and venue. At this time grants are limited to performers who are members in good standing of Local 1000 of the American Federation of Musicians from the U.S. or Canada. These grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and are awarded with equal opportunity to any musician who applies and meets the criteria identified in the application. Applications from BIPOC, disabled, and LGBTQ+ musicians are encouraged.
Upon receipt of the application form ASSV will verify the presenting organization, venue and performance and that the performer(s) are members in good standing of Local 1000. Applications will be processed in the order received as long as funds are available. There is no deadline for submission. Accepting an MIF grant does not preclude the performer from receiving remuneration from other sources for the same performance.
ASSV will notify the performer if the grant is approved. After the performance the grantee must submit verification of the event. Once ASSV has confirmed that the event took place as approved, payment will be sent to the performer.
